Lauren Macioce was born and raised in Ventura, California. She attended Ventura High School and was awarded the Kiwanis Scholar-Athlete award in 1990. She received her Bachelor's Degree from University of Santa Cruz in 2001. 

She joined the César Chávez Charter School staff for her first year of teaching after finishing her credential with CalState TEACH. She previously worked at César Chávez Charter School as an instructional assistant and is excited about leading the students in Physical Education for the 2007-08 school year.

Lauren lives in Carpinteria with her husband and two daughters. Her passions include nutrition, running, surfing, camping and playing a Brazilian martial art, Capoeira.
