Kathy Serrano was born in Mexico City but was raised in the state of Michoacan until the age of seven. At that time she and her mother immigrated to the United States and Kathy began her elementary school education in Isla Vista. She attended Goleta Valley Jr. High and Dos Pueblos High School. She continued her studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Chicano Studies. At UCSB she also completed her teaching credential in 2006.

She feels very fortunate to have a precious young daughter who she will be enrolling at CCCS for kindergarten in the near future. Ms. Serrano firmly believes in bilingual education and for this reason is very proud to be a part of the dedicated CCCS team that is committed to bilingual education and the families they serve.
