Daisy Lima enjoys working in the same community where she went to school. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara and loves living in paradise! She attended Monroe Elementary School, La Cumbre Jr. High School and graduated from San Marcos High School in 2002. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Education from UCSB in 2006. She continued on to graduate school at UCSB where she received her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with BCLAD Spanish certification and a Masters in Education in 2007. Srta. Lima felt privileged to become a part of the CCCS family in 2007; she enjoys working with her colleagues, the families and the community.
This community is her home, and her goal as a teacher has been to serve her own community and the children that are part of it. She feels fortunate to be part of César Chávez Charter School’s mission and help “develop bi-literate, multi-cultural students whose strong academic and cultural foundation prepare them to meaningfully participate in their families, their community and their world to create a more just and equitable society.” Srta. Lima is a teacher because she enjoys helping others find success. She wants her students to experience meaningful, interesting learning that applies to their lives.
Srta. Lima loves to travel! She has visited over a dozen countries and enjoys being exposed to other cultures. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading a good book at the beach, adding to her shoe collection, children’s literature, singing, and McConnell’s ice cream! |
