There are many ways that families and community members can get involved at CCCS:
Governance Council
Our charter school governing board meets the third Monday of each month at 6:15 p.m. on site. The Governance Council (GC) is comprised of parents, educators, and other community members who volunteer their time to provide oversight to CCCS. Meetings are open to the public.
School Site Council
The School Site Council (SSC) is comprised of a balance of staff members and parents. They meet monthly to provide oversight and input in the areas of school satisfaction survey, safe school plan, and categorical budget.
Padres Adelante/English Learners Advisory Committee
Padres Adelante/ELAC meetings are held several times per month and conducted in Spanish. A UCSB parent educator works with the group to develop their leadership skills and inform them of their rights and responsibilities within the school system. They also give input to the principal on the English Learners’ program and participate in district-level meetings and state-level trainings.
Volunteers
Volunteers are always welcome at CCCS. We have volunteers who are university students giving back to the community and mentoring youth, volunteers who are retirees, and volunteers who want to see a dual immersion program in action.
Donations
César Estrada Chávez Dual Language Immersion Charter School is registered as a 501©3 nonprofit organization. All donations to our school are tax-deductible. If you’re interested in visiting the school to see how your donation would be put to use, please contact us at any time.
